Week 50 2013
Hello!
I’m back in France and was delighted to touchdown with clear
blue skies and a shining sun. It’s
lovely to visit friends and family, but there’s nothing quite like coming home! Christmas Markets are in full swing in the Gironde and the Dordogne but I managed to visit one beside the Cathedral in Exeter, Devon.
You can take the girl away from the brocantes, but you can’t
keep her away from ‘antiquing’! I spent a very satisfying morning browsing Bourne
Mill Antiques in Farnham – never again shall I complain about the cold in Rauzan,
Bourne Mill was glacial!
Finally, The Fisherman’s Cot in Bickleigh, Tiverton, Devon
is the alleged inspiration for the Simon and Garfunkel hit Bridge over Troubled Water. Help yourself to an extra advent
chocolate if you got it right!
Plenty to do in the area this week, the Ice rink is up and
running in Bordeaux, wrap up warm and have fun!
Best wishes,
Helen

Week 49 2013
Hello,
Not just for the holiday is on holiday… a short trip over to
the UK to visit family and friends and celebrate a landmark birthday! (not
mine)
I can’t see the river Dordogne from the window, but today
I’m not far from the bridge, which is allegedly the Simon and Garfunkel ‘Bridge
over troubled waters.’ Do you know where
it is?
I hope I’ve included lots of events for the coming week,
apologies if I’ve missed out anything, but please feel free to add any events
as a message at the end of the blog.
Have a great week
Best wishes,
Helen
