Week 8 2023

 Hello!

It was Pancake day, the first one is always a bit ropey, but I soon got into the swing of it.  I don't think anything tops sugar and lemon as a filling... so that's what they were.

Whatever you had on your pancakes, I hope they were delicious.

The rains have arrived after almost a month without, so keep warm and dry and whatever you do in the Gironde and Dordogne regions, have a great time.

Best wishes,
Helen

Week 8

Chateau Font Vidal, Juillac

Coming up...

11 March  - poisson d'avril

And finally...

The pottery workshop has been on the road. I took the workshop to a nearby Centre de Loisir and the children all worked with the clay to make faces.  For some, it was their first time working with clay.  I love the results, there are some great creatives and budding potters.

Week 7 2023

Hello,

The Cranes have been spotted flying overhead with their very distinctive sound signalling their arrival.

A quick check on the crane migration website points out that there has been significant movement since 9th February.

Crane movement on 15th February.

Unsurprisingly, given the beautiful sunny days we have been having, there have been plenty of cranes heading north.

Keep enjoying the good weather. Whatever you do in the Gironde and Dordogne regions, have a great time.

Best wishes,
Helen

Week 7

Coming up...

It's Mardi Gras (or Shrove Tuesday, or Pancake Day) next week, so carnival season is upon us.  Me, I'm just in it for the pancakes!

 And finally...

As the days lengthen, we head out into the garden.  In the pottery studio I've been busy making these plant markers. Ideal for your herb and veg patches...

Week 6 2023

 Hello!

The sun is shining, even though the night time temperatures are still cold.  The garden is starting to wake up and the snow drops are pushing through the undergrowth.

Whatever you do this week in the Gironde and Dordogne, have a great time. The schools are on holiday, so the children will be out and about enjoying their free time.

Best wishes,
Helen
