Week 21 2022

 Hello!

There's another jour ferie ... this one is L'ascension and it always falls on a Thursday because it's 10 days before Pentecost Sunday.  It marks the day that Jesus ascended to heaven following his crucifixion and resurrection, according to Christian belief. Please be aware that public services and many shops will be closed and as it's followed by a Friday, many businesses take the opportunity to 'faire le pont' so watch out for Friday too!

I'm starting to put together the summer night market list for 2022.  If you know the dates for night markets in your town or village, please do let me know.

Week 20 2022

 Hello!

The sun shone for most of the day at the Medieval festival in Sauveterre de Guyenne.  There was a big turn out and the entertainment was great fun... ever tried to fight someone with a leek?

 Plenty of folks, young and old, tried their hand at modeling a clay pinch pot.

Hand built pinch pots... it's as simple as that!

All you need is 100g of clay, your hands and a stick or a stamp to decorate. No two pots are ever the same.

Plenty of events and activities coming up in the Gironde and Dordogne region.

Come and make a clay rose or two.  They make a great gift, or you can put it in the garden, or a plant pot.  They are fired in the kiln and are sturdy enough to go outside.
