Week 13 2020

Hello!

Challenging times, but the sun is shining and most of us have gardens to hang out in.  The clocks change this weekend, giving us an extra hour of sunshine to be in the garden, tending those plants or enjoying an apero!

I'm sure you all have seen the information from the government about Coronavirus, but here is the link to the information in English.

Take care and be safe.
Best wishes,
Helen

And don't forget... there's always cake!

One bowl apple cake - the easiest and most delicious cake I know. I just sprinkle flaked almonds on top for a little extra crunch.

Week 12 2020

Hello!

What can I say, difficult and challenging times.

One of the items I have read over the past days really struck a chord for me:

In the end, it will be impossible to know if we overreacted or did too much, but it will be QUITE apparent if we under reacted or did too little.

Take care, stay safe and get gardening!  This year we'll have no excuse for an untidy garden!

Best wishes,
Helen

Week 11 2020

Hello!

Such a dreary day, I thought there was going to be sunshine - so here's some daffodils to brighten the day!

Whatever you do this week, have a great time. I don't know if all these activities will go ahead as planned, so I suggest that you call ahead of time if you are in doubt.  Meanwhile, this was the advice from Castillon Mairie

Best wishes,
Helen

Week 10 2020

Hello!

With the weather driving us all indoors, why not come and join me for a pottery workshop on Saturday afternoon in Sauveterre.  This month the theme is 'Fish' in readiness for the 1st April - known here as Poisson d’Avril.  On that day you may spot people with cut out paper fish taped to their backs.  How much nicer to have a pottery fish (or 2) that you made and decorated yourself!

A drop in workshop from 3pm - 5pm in Sauveterre at the Maison de Artisans, on the corner opposite the Tourist Office.  All welcome!

Whatever you do this week in the Gironde and Dordogne regions, keep warm, keep dry and have a good time.

Best wishes,
Helen
