Week 2 2015

Hello!

Happy New Year!  After 2 weeks of Christmas celebrations and festivities, it’s back to school and back to work.  Many thanks to CC and les Bricolos du lundi for their beautiful image.

I has been quite quiet on the events front, so if you hear of any activities, or want to share any information about upcoming events please don’t hesitate to get in touch.

Whatever you do in the Gironde or Dordogne regions, have a great week.

Best wishes,
Helen

11 January : Weekly Flea Market at Rauzan.  Drive into the village and past the Mairie on your right.  Take a left turn just on the corner of the little grocery shop.  The Flea market is on your right about 100m along the road.  Park beside the school or on the roadside.  Wrap up well, I sometimes think it’s warmer outside than indoors!

11 January 20h : National Gallery is showing in VO at La Breche in Ste Foy.
The National Gallery in London is one of the great museums of the world with 2400 paintings from the 13th to the end of the 19th century. Almost every human experience is represented in one or the other of the paintings. The sequences of the film show the public in various galleries; the education programs, and the scholars, scientists and curators, studying, restoring and planning the exhibitions. The relation between painting and storytelling is explored.

Coming up…

And finally…

Between the foggy winter days we have had some stunningly beautiful moments when the clouds have lifted and the sun shone.  The cold covered the world with a magical hoar frost, sprinkling the garden with tiny perfect icicles.
