Week 27 2017

The Battle of Castillon is coming up.  One of the biggest open air shows in the south wast of France. The amazing open air performance re-enacts the story of the 100 Years War between England and France.  Played out on an open air stage, 400 hundred volunteers put on a show to remember. Featuring horseback riders, swordsmen and live animals this one and a half hour show is a highlight of the summer.

Spend the evening at the battle site, have a meal at the open air auberge, watch the pre-show entertainment, sample the wines of Castillon and play Medieval games before taking your seats on the great grandstands to watch the story unfold. It runs for 6 weekends from 13 July. Find out more here

I've been trying out video snips on the newsletter this week - are they working for you? I'm always keen to hear what you think.

Whatever you do this week in the Gironde and Dordogne regions, have a great time.
Best wishes,
