And finally.

As part of the European Heritage weekend we went to visit the Moulin de la Barthe just outside Blasimon.  Parts of the structure date back to the 14th Century.  Over the past 6 years the watermill has been faithfully restored by the owners (a semi retured mill builder) and is now open by appointment only, and on heritage days.
I'd never seen the inside of a watermill working before.

Week 38 2018

Hello!

Harvest time is upon us and the machines are out in force around Castillon gathering in this year's grapes.  Not so at Chateau de Claribes just outside Gensac. Here they have a merry band of helpers to hand pick their beautiful rose.

Thank you to JM for a great photo.

A warm sun filled morning with fabulous views over the surrounding countryside and the harvest was soon gathered in.  Now we wait for the magic to happen in the chai.  Thank you to Nick and Helen for inviting me to be part of their harvest.

Whatever you do in the Gironde and Dordogne regions have a lovely week.

Best wishes,
Helen
