Notjustfortheholidays has been on holiday! A few away days in Paris! I recommend taking the new fast TGV - 2 hours from Bordeaux to Paris and look up the Ouigo option for some great deals!
Canal Saint Martin and the surrounding area, great fun, it was where Amélie was filmed.
Whatever you do this week in the Gironde and Dordogne, I'm happy to be back home and wish you all a great weekend.
Best wishes,
Helen

Coming up...
1 November : La Toussaint - All Saints’ Day
Public life in France is generally very quiet on La Toussaint. Post offices, banks, stores and other businesses are closed, restaurants and cafes may also be closed. However, airports and railway stations and along major highways, are open.
Public transport service schedules vary depending on where one lives and intends to travel. Churches may be closed for visitors who do not wish to take part in the services and guided tours may not be available.
Many Christians visit special church services on All Saints' Day. They may also visit cemeteries and place flowers on the graves of deceased family members and close friends. It is customary to leave chrysanthemums or wreaths of artificial flowers on or close to the graves.

And finally...
Don't forget the clocks change this weekend. We gain an hour between Saturday night and Sunday morning... an hour extra in bed in the morning, but those longer evenings are over.
