Don Giovanni |
A super week of concerts last week, Don Giovanni was a great
success and thanks to RV for the lovely photo from the Eglise Collegiale in St
Emilion.
The brocantes show no signs of stopping; I was spoilt for
choice on Sunday and was rewarded with this super photo opportunity. (And I finally found a cake stand handle without
the plates – no prizes for guessing what I’ll make in my next pottery class!)
Have a great week, it’s still sunny and there’s plenty to do.
Best wishes,
Helen

Week 37
The upcoming week is packed with things to do and places to
visit in the Gironde and Dordogne region, we’re spoilt for choice. There is the
Fete du Mascaret at Saint Pardon. The
Mascaret is the big wave that comes upriver into the Gironde estuary and then
along the Dordogne caused by the unusually high tide. People come from all around the world to catch
the wave and surf upstream. With water
the colour of chocolate milk it’s a keen surfer who takes his chances with the tide! To get a taste of the event visit http://www.mascaret.asso.fr/
This weekend also celebrates European Heritage with many
places opening up their historical monuments for people to visit, Bordeaux has
an extensive programme on offer. To find
out more go to http://www.bordeaux.fr/ebx/portals/ebx.portal?_nfpb=true&_pageLabel=pgFicheEvt&classofcontent=evenement&id=5993

A message from the MADS Music and Drama Society:
We are always
looking for new ways of spreading information about of MADS productions and
events. We are also looking to increase the membership and furthermore looking
for those who might like 'to tread the boards' or help with set construction ,
help backstage or just get involved in some small way. We are in the process of
developing short courses for new actors, directors and those who would like to
get involved in theatrical events. We are also developing a program to involve
French school children in a small way in some form of English theatre.
If I can give
you any further information on MADS please don’t hesitate to get in touch
Regards,
David Shepherd http://www.mads-theatre.org/MADS/Home.html
