Hello!
A very BIG Thank You to everyone who helped out, supported, donated, gave cakes,
drank coffee and ate cake at the coffee morning on Friday. We were initially thwarted by rain, but by
the end of the morning, the sun was out and we were all outside. Cake by the
river…
In total we raised €625 which will be split between the
Macmillan Cancer Care and the Bergonie Institute in Bordeaux. Once again, many thanks!
Whatever you do this week in the Gironde and Dordogne
regions, have a great time.
Best wishes,
Helen

Fred and Mick, two old friends, are on vacation in an
elegant hotel at the foot of the Alps. Fred, a composer and conductor, is now
retired. Mick, a film director, is still working. They look with curiosity and
tenderness on their children's confused lives, Mick's enthusiastic young
writers, and the other hotel guests. While Mick scrambles to finish the
screenplay for what he imagines will be his last important film, Fred has no
intention of resuming his musical career. But someone wants at all costs to
hear him conduct again. Starring
Michael Caine, Harvey Keitel and Rachel Weisz

Coming up…
And finally…
St Emilion was alive with the sound of bagpipes to mark the
Jurade. This occasion celebrates the
start of the harvest in St Emilion. The
winemakers parade through the village in their finery, ending up at the top of
the King’s Tower. Thank you RD for the super
photos.
Merci beaucoup pour l'excellente initiative du "coffee morning to help raise funds for the Macmillan Cancer Support and the Institut Begonie in Bordeaux" , et merci aussi pour votre super organisation et votre chaleureuse hospitalité pour cette matinée du 18 septembre.
