Blesignac Plant Market

Hello!

The Plant market at Blesignac was super.  There were a huge number of stands with a great range of plants.  We picked up some lovely ‘bee attracting’ plants for the garden.

Thank you very much for the information you have sent to me, it all helps to find out what’s going on. 

I bumped into a friend (at the plant market) who has a gite and B&B and she has been sending the blog address to her clients who have been able to get planning before they arrive.  I think it’s a great idea, so please feel free to send the blog link onto holiday visitors and clients.

Lectrice de la médiathèque et habitant à Lamothe Montravel, c’est une artiste complète au parcours riche et varié. 7, 8, 9 April : International Baseball Tournament at Pinueilh the games start at 10 every morning from Sat, Sun & Monday. There are teams form Portugal, Canada & Italy this year as well as French teams from further afield. There are 'refreshments' - beer tent, hot/cold sandwiches, hot/cold drinks. Local team is Pitcher's de Pinueilh and the field is called Chury directly opposite the new Leclerc! http://baseball.paysfoyen.com/welcome/index.php  

7, 8, 9 April : Foire de Pâques. Castillon-la-Bataille.  The funfair arrives in Castillon, spreading from the train station down to the stone bridge.  On Monday the weekly market is also there, with a plant market in Rue Victor Hugo and the usual Monday market in the Place.

6, 7 , 8 April : Grotte de Celestine in Rauzan is celebrating 10 years.  If you are going to the Grande Brocante in Rauzan, why not take in the caves too.  They’re great fun, you go down a long spiral staircase and then walk through the stream that runs through the caves under Rauzan.  Hard hats and waders are provided.  For more information and to make reservations (recommended) http://grotte-celestine.over-blog.com/ or call 05 57 84 07 73

April 7th 20h30 : Concert at the Salle de Fêtes at St Aquilin (24), l'Harmonie Salembraise playing popular modern music during the first half of the evening. After the interval, the Mozaic Jazz Band will play jazz, swing and blues standards. Entry 5 euros.

Friday April 13th at 8.30pm in the church at St Laurent des Hommes (24), a concert of classical music with, in the first half, Dan Jones (Prof de guitare at l'Ecole de Musique de St Laurent des Hommes) and the second half will be the first public concert by 'Sax Attitude', a saxophone quartet also affiliated to the music school. Entry free though monetary contributions can be made on the way out.

15 April : Foire aux Oeufs et aux Poussins at the Salle in Gensac.  Chickens and eggs to see and buy.  Which came first…?
