Week 18 2012

Hello!

Rain, rain go away… come again another day…

Despite this we have managed to catch some sunshine and get out and about.   The fete local in St-Philippe-du-Seignal on Sunday was dry enough for us to have lunch outside, whilst the boys had a look at the tractors.

Saturday night at the Diner Vigneron was a treat and a half, a beautiful setting at the Salle des Dominicains, and just a ‘few’ local wines to taste.  Many thanks to the viticulteurs for their generosity.

Apparently April showers bring May flowers, but I’ve already seen quite a few out and about and if the river keeps rising I shall have my very own water garden!

Many thanks for all your continuing contributions,

Best wishes,

Helen

Dear All

Following the success of last year’s Party in the Park, a similar evening has been planned for 2012.

I have attached the details for you to read and forward to your friends (please!). The date will be Wednesday 11th July, starting at 19h00. The evening will finish around 23h00. The ticket price for this year will be 20 euros per person to include a bottle of wine, see below.

As before you can bring your own picnic – be it nibbles or a full-blown supper. But, this year, a bottle of Chateau Fayolle Luzac’s wine has been included in the ticket price. The choice will be their traditional Bergerac Rouge, Bergerac Rose or Montravel Dry White. You will be able to enjoy the wine during the evening or take it away with you. Extra wine, beer and water will be on sale during the evening.

The gates will be open for parking from 18h00 – and no earlier. Parking is fairly limited so we would ask you to make up car loads wherever possible, rather than come with just two in the car.

A lot of people got up to dance last year which was fun – but the ladies may want to consider flat shoes for this year as dancing on the grass isn’t that easy. You may also want to consider bringing a lantern or candles to give your space a bit more light and atmosphere. There will be good lighting to see you out to the car park at the end of the evening.

As last year I would ask you to book your tickets through me and send a cheque, post dated to 10th July so that the cheque can be destroyed or returned should the event have to be cancelled due to bad weather. I will send you an e-ticket which will have space for you to indicate your choice of wine – when you arrive you can take this ticket to the bar where your bottles of wine will be given to you.

Ticket numbers are strictly limited and will be issued on a first come, first served basis. So don’t delay.

Best wishes
Andrea
