Week 45 2025

 Hello!

And so what do you do when you have a hornet's nest in your chimney... 😣

Well, I had a chimney sweep and a hornet destroyer both peering up my chimney last week.  The hornets were almost all gone and now the nest is removed.  So, the other day I could light my first fire of the autumn.

They really are amazing structures, but not something I needed in my chimney.

Week 44 2025

Hello! 

This week, 1st November is a public holiday called La Toussaint.  On this day many French people honour the lives of their deceased relatives by putting flowers on the family graves – traditionally chrysanthemums.  Most shops and restaurants are closed as people generally try and spend the day with their family.  By the way, even though you might think that chrysanthemums would make a great gift – don’t try offering them to a French person, here they are flowers for remembrance. The cemeteries are filled with colour at this time of year.

Whatever you do in the Gironde and Dordogne regions, have a great time.

 Hello!

This weekend is the Fete de la Saint Martin in Flaujagues.

 

A meal and live entertainment on Saturday, and a brocante on Sunday.  No wind or rain is forecast for Sunday, so head over to the brocante and pick up a bargain.
