Week 43 2021

Hello!

This weekend, as well as Halloween, don't forget to put your clocks back.  An hour extra in bed in the morning on Sunday... but the evenings will feel so much shorter.

This made me smile!  There's a clock at home that is so complicated to change, it's only right half the year!

Whatever you do this week in the Gironde and Dordogne regions, keep safe, take care and have a good week.
Best wishes,
Helen

Coming up...

1 November is Toussaints. It is a catholic holy day and in France it's a public holiday and a time when families visit cemeteries to remember and honour their deceased relatives. It's traditional for families to put a pot of chrysanthemums on the graves of their family for la Fete de la Toussaint.

And finally...

I got my winter flu jab this week.  So simple, head to the local pharmacy and they administer them there.  I didn't even need an appointment.

Week 42 2021

 Hello!

There was a fabulous Balloon Festival in St Emilion last weekend.  Every evening and morning there were balloons hovering over the village.  The weather was beautiful and the balloons could be seen from miles around.  This beautiful photo was taken from the window of Le Jardin restaurant in St Emilion.

School holidays start this weekend and we don't know how much longer this beautiful weather will last.  Whatever you do in the Gironde and Dordogne regions, have a great week.

Best wishes,
Helen

Week 41 2021

Hello!

Halloween is just around the corner, and I love a theme in the pottery workshop.  This Saturday, I'm collaborating with Amelie (I love a collaboration too!) and we are having a Halloween day.

Amelie makes beautiful creations from calabashes, or gourdes, she makes lamps and lidded boxes and even mini chests of drawers, this weekend, you can carve a Halloween pumpkin face onto a calabash to make your own Jack'o'lantern.  Learn how she makes her lamps and make one for yourself.

Meanwhile, in my studio we'll be making Day of the Dead key-rings from the clay.  The white earthenware clay that I love to work with makes a great background for the colourful skull decorations.

Contact me - 06 30 89 85 36 - if you'd like to take part in one or both of these Saturday workshops.

Whatever you do this weekend in the Gironde and Dordogne regions, have a great time.
Best wishes,
Helen
