Week 21 2021

I'm very excited to be out and about again!  This weekend on Sunday, you can find me at the EcoJournee in Flaujagues.  There is a full day of activities spread over 2 sites in Flaujagues.  I'll be there with my open air workshop.  Come along, say hello and make your own plant markers for your garden.

Take a moment to relax, work with the clay, and roll and stamp your own plant markers.  Then I'll take them back over to Sauveterre where I'll fire and glaze them.  You can choose your own words, and colour (green, pink, yellow or white), and they'll be ready for you in 2 weeks.

But that's not all, there's so much more going on throughout the day.

I look forward to meeting you on Sunday, take care and have a good week in the Gironde and Dordogne regions,
Best wishes,

Week 21

If you can't make the Ecojournee on Sunday, you can always come to Sauveterre on Saturday.  It's a sunflower workshop - but if you'd rather make plant markers I can set that up for you.

Make Sunflowers on Saturday

This is me!

Coming up...

And finally...

We've never really managed to get rhubarb to grow until now... so from garden to muffin!  An adaptation of Nigella's polenta muffins - rhubarb and almond muffins.

Week 20 2021

Finally... we can open our local independent shops and support small businesses, we can have a drink and a meal on the terrace of our local small businesses and we can restart workshops and support small local businesses...

Please get out there and support our local small businesses. Thank you.

Whatever you do this week in the Gironde and Dordogne regions, have a great time, take care and keep safe.
Best wishes,

Week 20

Coming up...

Monday 24th May is Pentecost, (another bank holiday for May)

We used to pick up a year's supply of salt from the 8 May open day market at Chateau de Bonhoste.  Unfortunately the market was cancelled, but the opportunity to buy the potatoes and the salt lives on.

Delayed to 3 July

I'll be here with a mini pottery workshop.

And finally...

I can restart pottery workshops.

If you are interested in discovering clay, trying your hand at throwing a pot, or looking for a new activity to explore, don't hesitate to get in touch.  I have a beautiful studio on the top floor of the Maison des Artisans in Sauveterre just asking to be full of creative and curious souls.

Week 19 2021

It's so exciting... we are looking forward to next week when Bars and Restaurants start to open up again.

Even more exciting is that Chateau Rigaud in Mouliets et Villemartin is launching a pop up from 20th May, on the terrace at Rigaud. Their weddings are starting late for all the obvious reasons but the chefs are all there and raring to go so this is what they're offering.

Chateau Pop is all about gourmet burgers and slightly naughty salads under the guidance of their new head chef, John Grabecki. John spent a year at the three michelin star restaurant 'Attica' in Melbourne and was also TWICE winner of "The Great Sausage Roll Off" in Barnes, London, a fact of which he is rightly proud.

They would like to extend a special opening offer, a free glass of cremant for every Not Just For The Holidays reader who likes their Facebook Page before they open on 20th May.

You just need to mention that you have liked the page when booking a table.

Whatever you do in the Gironde and Dordogne regions, keep well, keep safe, take care.
Best wishes,

Week 19

13 May is a Bank Holiday - Ascension

Coming up...

The Glass House at Chateau Carbonneau

And finally...

We have moved the Sunflower pottery workshop on to 29th May.  Pottery Workshops are still prohibited under the Covid guidelines.
