Something for everyone...

Hello!

Twice a year, Rauzan hosts an Antique and Collectables Fair in the middle of an otherwise sleepy little village.  Hundreds of dealers come from all over France with their array of Antiques from pictures to pottery and garden tools to glassware, there really is something for everyone and this year was no exception.  There were some big ticket items inside the hall with prices to make your jaw drop but there were also plenty of bargains – don’t be afraid to haggle!

I’m looking forward to the Balloon festival in St Emilion this coming weekend.  It opens on Thursday evening with a Musical Light show ‘Night Glow’ as the sun sets.  Headed by a conductor, the Balloonists will light their burners in time to the music…

Pork sausages 8 in a pack 10euros/kg (pack price is usually between 5,50 and 8,00 euros)

Back Bacon 8 rashers in a pack 15euros/kg (pack price between 6 and 7 euros)

Streaky bacon 12 rashers in a pack 10euros/kg (pack price between 2 and 3,50 euros)

Lamb Leg 13,50euros/kg (between 25 and 30 euros for a leg)

Lamb Shoulder 11,00euros/kg (between 15 and 18 euros for a shoulder)

Loin Chops 17,00euros/kg ( between 6 and 9 euros very variable as some are packed in 3 and some in 4)

Lamb Cutlets 15,00 euros /kg (between 3,50 and 5,50 euros per pack packed in 3)

Minced Lamb and Minced young goat 16,00 euros/kg (8 euros a pack packed in 500g)

Lamb sausages depending on what flavour I have made vary between 12-16euros/kg

I will need a week to organise a half or a whole lamb

Half a lamb jointed and vacuum packed 10,50euros/kg

Includes 1 leg, 1 shoulder, 6/7 cutlets, 6/7 loin chops, 7/8 shoulder chops, neck and breast.

Approximate weight is 7-9kg, 73-95euros

Whole lamb jointed and vacuum packed 10,50euros/kg

Includes 2 legs, 2 shoulders, 12/14 cutlets, 12/14 loin chops, 14/16 shoulder chops, neck and 2 breast.21

Approximate weight is 14-18kg, 150-190euros

Set in Depression-era Franklin County, Virginia, a bootlegging gang is threatened by a new deputy and other authorities who want a cut of their profits.  Starring Tom Hardt, Shia LaBeouf and Guy Pearce.

20 October 17h : Killer Joe is showing in VO at the Eden Cinema in Monsegur.

Finding himself in considerable debt, Chris a Texan drug dealer, decides the only solution is to murder his mother to collect the insurance money. Getting together with his father, the ex-husband of Chris' mother, they decide to hire Joe Cooper a contract killer, who also happens to be a police detective. The plan is that the money will go to Chris' sister Dottie. However due to the size of the contract fee, Chris agrees that Joe can take Dottie as a retainer until the insurance comes through.  Starring Matthew McConaughey, Emile Hirsch and Juno Temple.
