Week 20 2013

Hello!

We had a lovely day at Chateau de Bonhoste last Wednesday, the accordionist Mikael was there with his lively show, Coach’in Zumba Team were there in force getting the crowd moving, there were chickens to see and plants to buy and the Bandas rounded off an enjoyable day.

It was a busy event and we caught up with lots of friends.  (AND the rain held off!)

There really are lots of things going on in and around the Gironde and Dordogne area, we are spolit for choice.  Many thanks to everyone who has sent contributions, keep them coming.

Have a good week,

Best wishes,
Helen

PS - Next Monday 20 May is another Bank Holiday, lundi du Pentecote.

And finally…

Despite the miserable weather last Thursday, there was great excitement along the banks of the Dordogne.
A swarm of bees was spotted in a nearby cherry tree, so all hands on deck, and bee hats to the ready as the swarm was transferred from the tree to a hive.
So far, so good, the bees have settled into their new home and with the mass of acacia blossoms around, should soon be making a good store of honey.
Many thanks to PL and DS.

  1. Wed. am - just been down to chat to bees and showed them their photos. V. pleased and seem settled though I did hear one of them say 'I could have sworn there was a river not far away' and the rest of them are moaning about the weather. Will report on bees from time to time, especially if there's a Happy Event'. PL
