Week 50 2013

Hello!

I’m back in France and was delighted to touchdown with clear blue skies and a shining sun.  It’s lovely to visit friends and family, but there’s nothing quite like coming home! Christmas Markets are in full swing in the Gironde and the Dordogne but I managed to visit one beside the Cathedral in Exeter, Devon.

You can take the girl away from the brocantes, but you can’t keep her away from ‘antiquing’! I spent a very satisfying morning browsing Bourne Mill Antiques in Farnham – never again shall I complain about the cold in Rauzan, Bourne Mill was glacial!

Finally, The Fisherman’s Cot in Bickleigh, Tiverton, Devon is the alleged inspiration for the Simon and Garfunkel hit Bridge over Troubled Water. Help yourself to an extra advent chocolate if you got it right!

Plenty to do in the area this week, the Ice rink is up and running in Bordeaux, wrap up warm and have fun!

Best wishes,

Helen
