Week 35 2014

Hello!

Did you know that the crayfish is invading?  They arrived from America and now they have made their homes in the banks of the rivers and the lakes in France.  They cause damage by burrowing huge long tunnels into the banks so that eventually they collapse.

They are surprisingly easy to catch, and dipping a net into the water will soon gather an impressive harvest.  They need rinsing before eating (up to 5 times) and keep an eye on them as they are keen to escape.  Then tip them into boiling water, cook and serve!  An striking dish, and a delicacy in some parts of the world.  Bon appetit!
A Crayfish Supper.

This is Franco British Week in Ste Foy la Grande. See the full programme complete with contact numbers and full addresses at http://francobritishweek.com/

Whatever you do in the Grionde and Dordogne regions, have a great week.

Best wishes,

Helen
