Week 3 2017

Hello!

Did you know that there are weekly flea markets around the St Michel quartier in Bordeaux? Up and running during the week on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Fridays, and the biggest, most popular time, on a Sunday morning.

So, last Sunday (despite the damp weather) we headed over there to have a look.  Be warned... there's a lot of junk, but there are also a few gems if you rummage! And rummage I did!  I'd been after a big wooden bowl, and there it was, buried at the back of a stall, covered in dust and dirt! It's now pride of place in the kitchen.

Whatever you do in the Gironde and Dordogne regions, wrap up warm and have a good week.

21 January 14h30 : In support of the Women's March on Washington there's a march in the centre of Bordeaux.

21 January 21h : A traditional orchestra from St Petersbourg perform at the church at St Aubin-Latresne.  Entrance €15 on the night, or €12 if you book ahead of time - 06 03 82 41 09

22 January : The Ecole de Musique & Dance invite you to join them in ana afternoon of orchestras and choirs.  Free entry, all welcome at the Salle Teyssander in Pineuilh.

22 January 17h45 :  Paris-Texas  is showing in VO at Cinema La Breche in Ste Foy la Grande.
A man wanders out of the desert after a four year absence. His brother finds him, and together they return to L.A. to reunite the man with his young son. Soon after, he and the boy set out to locate the mother of the child, who left shortly after the man disappeared. Starring Harry Dean Stanton, Nastassja Kinski and Dean Stockwell.

22 January 17h : The Temple de Bergerac in Bergerac is hosting a recital of Handel's Messiah.  Entrance €8

Out and about checking over the properties we look after, and this was the view.  Disregarding the biting cold wind and the temperatures just above freezing... we could be in the Caribbean!
