Week 39 2018

Preparations full steam ahead for the Rencontre des Savoir-Faire in Sauveterre on Sunday. Over 30 artisans with their stands, showcasing their products and sharing their skills. There will be demonstrations throughout the day, including wood turners, glass engravers, a knife maker, a distiller, ceramicists, a leather worker, stone masons and mosaic artists, to list a few.

Inside the Maison des Artisans you can learn more about glass blown jewellery, calabash art and spinning and weaving.  A full programme is available on the day.  Refreshments available, including Feel's secret recipe crepes, and Nas's secret recipe refreshing infusion drink!

If you come over to Sauveterre on Sunday, be sure to look me up and say 'Hello!'

Whatever you do this weekend have a great time in the Gironde and Dordogne regions.
Best wishes,

Coming up...

And finally.

As part of the European Heritage weekend we went to visit the Moulin de la Barthe just outside Blasimon.  Parts of the structure date back to the 14th Century.  Over the past 6 years the watermill has been faithfully restored by the owners (a semi retured mill builder) and is now open by appointment only, and on heritage days.
I'd never seen the inside of a watermill working before.
