Week 35 2021

 Hello!

So much fun last week with a group of friends out on the loose in St Emilion ... on Segways!

There were a few wobbles to begin with, but it didn't take us long before we got the hang of it an were speeding through the vines around St Emilion.

The Segway tours are run by Chateau la Renommee and are such a fun way to discover the area.  Our tour took is right down to the banks of the Dordogne, before returning to the chateau for a tasting.

Whatever you do this week in the Gironde and the Dordogne regions, keep safe and well and have a good time.

Best wishes,
Helen

Coming up...

The festival Vino Voce has a great host of musical events centered around St Emilion.  Find out all about it here

And finally...

We have plenty of blackberries in our garden this year, so many that I wondered if this meant there would be an old wives tale about a harsh winter.

What I wasn't expecting to find was stories about not eating blackberries past a certain date!  It seems to vary depending on where you come from... from 29 September to 11 October.  Whichever date... seems the devil is involved!

I didn't know of this old wives tale, but for now, I shall keep enjoying the fruit from the bramble bushes!
