Week 45 2021

 Hello!

I've heard the cranes flying overhead in the night time, but I haven't seen any this year.  Is this normal that they fly through the night? I had thought that they took rest stops and overnighted at lakes and marshlands.

This is a photo from a few years ago.  The cranes make a distinctive noise as they fly overhead, I'm wondering if they are flying at night because they are making their migration so late in the year?

The sun continues to shine, so have a great week in the Gironde and Dordogne regions.
Best wishes,
Helen

Week 45

11 November - Jour Ferie in France - Armistice Day, on each November 11th, France pays tribute to fighters and victims of the First World War.  You will probably see that the monument to fallen soldiers in your town or village will have a wreath placed there and many places have a small ceremony at 11 am. Find out a little more about the history here.

12 November - These are the fabulous couple who designed my logo and flyers.

Coming up...

And finally...

The leafy hedgehog pottery workshop was cancelled last year due to covid restrictions. But it's back this year and it's a perfect autumn project.

Make and decorate the hedgehog with autumn leaves, colour mixing the autumn tones on each leaf.  A fun project.

There are still some places left for the afternoon sessions.  Or if you'd like to bring a group of up to 4 people on a different day, get in touch and we can set up a session.

And another thing... I learnt that when you say "Les hérissons" in French, you don't mush the words together and swallow the 'h', instead the 's' is silent and you go straight into hérissons... (sounds a bit like 'lay errison'... and of course you don't pronounce the final 's') Hummmm, just when I think I might have got a bit better in French, along comes another curved ball!
