Week 32 2025

 Hello!

Oh my goodness, I can't believe that we're into August and I haven't mentioned the Battle of Castillon.  The biggest show in southwest France.

So, it's not too late, there are still a couple of weekends to go.  It's a fabulous evening of entertainment, I'm always amazed how Castillon puts together such a extraordinary event, and over 5 weekends. (you never know, you might be there on the night that England wins 😃😄😉)

Find out all about it here https://www.batailledecastillon.com/

Whatever you do this week in the Gironde and Dordogne regions, have a great time.
Best wishes,
Helen

Week 33 2024

 Hello!

It's your last chance this weekend to see the Battle of Castillon. We saw it last week, and it doesn't disappoint.

Take the time to visit the artisan village and watch the pre-show performances. (There's wine tasting too!)

Whatever you do this week in the Gironde and Dordogne regions, have a great time,
Best wishes,
Helen

15 August

Assumption Day, or Assomption in France, is the day in Roman Catholic tradition when Mary, mother of Jesus Christ, was taken bodily up into heaven.

It is celebrated on 15 August each year and is a Holy Day of Obligation for Catholics in France. It is also a public holiday with banks and most businesses closed.

However, there are plenty of other things to be doing on this day.
