Week 23 2025

 Hello!

Hear ye, hear ye, dear Sauveterriennes and Sauveterriens!

After the great success of our last two festive jousts, Sauveterre-de-Guyenne town council invites you to the 3ᵉ edition of the Medieval Festival!

Join us on Sunday 8 June, from 10am, on the Place de la République to feast together on this day of jubilation, where traditions and revelry will transport you to the heart of ancient times!

Get ready to travel back in time to the knights, troubadours and craftsmen of yesteryear!

And I'll be there in Medieval get-up, with some sticky red clay and a coiling activity.  Come on over and say Hello.  See the full programme here https://www.sauveterre-de-guyenne.fr/fete-medievale/

Whatever you do this week in the Gironde and Dordogne regions, have a great time.
Best wishes,
Helen

And finally...

Next weekend is Father's Day, and we're celebrating in the pottery studio.  Bring your Dad and work together to make a sports themed 'vide-poche' (I've never found a satisfactory English translation for that word)

Here's one of Eric's paintings to give you a taste of what there is to see...

And finally...

Are you looking for a Father's Day gift? Or a wine lover's gift?  These are new into the boutique Arts Typiques in Sauveterre-de-Guyenne.

The wine coolers work with the traditional method of natural evaporation which keeps the bottles cool.

Soak the porous bottle holder in cool water, or run it under the cold tap until it is soaked through, place your bottle straight from the fridge and into the ceramic bottle holder.  As the heat of the day dries the water from the bottle holder, so it draws away the heat from the bottle of wine.  It won't cool a warm bottle, but it will keep a cold bottle cool.  Cheers!🥂
