They were up fixing something on the roof of the church in Sauvetere and took a photo of the square, and it reminded me of a photo I found a few years ago, taken from almost the same spot.

 

 I love looking at old photos of places I know.

Week 38 2023

 Hello!

It's action stations at the Association Arts Typiques in Sauveterre-de-Guyenne this weekend.  We're hosting the 6th Rencontre des Savoir-Faire

It's a great day out, 30 artisans will be hosting stands with demonstrations and explanations of the tips and techniques of their work, including, weavers, spinners, a potter in her wheel (no clues - it's me!), basket weaving, leatherwork, paper art, wood turning and a huge still distilling... not forgetting live music, entertainment, magic and juggling.

And if you're hungry, there are food truck, crepes, cakes and ice-cream.  I great day out for all - venez nombreux!

We've been doing lots of vegetation printing into clay, with wonderful textures from leaves, flowers and seed heads.  This was rather a surprise when we opened up a project to find that the wild carrot had germinated! 

Week 38 2022

Hello!

In Sauveterre we're gearing up for the 5th Rencontre des Savoir Faire. The Association Arts Typiques gathers together artisans from the region to share and demonstrate their skills and activities. I've been out and about with my wonderful assistant WS, sticking and planting posters!

 

This year we have over 25 different artisans joining us on Sunday 25th September.  There's a full day of events and activities, including live entertainment, with music and a magician, a fashion show, food trucks, a bar (with specialty bissap) and opportunities to try your hand at various activities.  

I'll be in my workshop, I'd love to see you, come by and say hello - you can even have a go at throwing a pot!
