Week 46 2020

Hello!

All is very quiet.  We hunker down and keep safe, looking forward to a time when we can be back with our friends and family.

Many thanks 😍 to the lovely people who have bought hearts from me, I'm making more, and I also have Christmas stars too.

A lovely way to share time together is to create together.  I'm offering workshops and together time in the pottery studio in Sauveterre (post lockdown). No previous pottery experience necessary, and over the course of 2 hours you can make something unique.  I've made a few suggestions, but there's no limit to the imagination.

So, when you are thinking of gifts, or planning time with friends, consider a pottery workshop.  I meet up with girlfriends for lunch or coffee, but why not meet up for 'Papoterie'  😀 Coffee and homemade cake included.

Whatever you do in the Gironde and Dordogne regions, keep safe, keep well and support small businesses if you can.

Best wishes,
Helen

And finally... hen update...

The four girls are finally settling in and starting to lay... fresh eggs are so good.

Week 37 2020

Hello!

Have you visited the amazing Klimt and Klee art and music show at the Submarine base in Bordeaux?

To quote my lovely friend RF 'Such a brilliant way to experience classic works of art, projected on dis-used massive buildings, like the submarine bassin, built by the Germans in WWII. You are literally submersed in it all around you and it’s set to music too. Well worth a visit.'

If you want to find out more, head to the website https://www.bassins-lumieres.com/en/home
I'd go again, it was wonderful.

Whatever you do this week in the Gironde and Dordogne regions. Keep safe and have a lovely time in this beautiful September weather.

Best wishes,
Helen

And finally...

We replaced our hens.  During lockdown we couldn't get any and then I needed to wait for the days to be a little shorter so that the first week of learning their new home at sunset wasn't too unbearably late. Now we wait for lovely local free range eggs from happy hens.

Welcome to your new home...

Week 16 2020

Hello!

Spring is certainly springing and we are so lucky to have a garden which is producing for us.  Chard, which was planted last year has survived the winter and has returned with enthusiasm - I thought it would just be a one season crop.  So along with herbs from the garden, we have ingredients for lunch.

Keep safe, stay at home, tend the garden, check on your friends and neighbours with a call or a message.  But most of all... stay at home!

Best wishes,
Helen

And finally...

For the first time in many years we find ourselves with an empty hen house.  I'm looking for 4 hens to replenish our flock. If anyone knows how I can get hold of 'poule pondeuse' at this time I'd be very grateful.  🐔🐔🐔🐔

Des res for 4 hens, ready for occupancy.
