This is the last jour ferie in May... this one is L'ascension and it always falls on a Thursday because it's 10 days before Pentecost Sunday.  It marks the day that Jesus ascended to heaven following his crucifixion and resurrection, according to Christian belief. Please be aware that public services and many shops will be closed and as it's followed by a Friday, many businesses take the opportunity to 'faire le pont' so watch out for Friday too!

Whatever you do this weekend in the Gironde and Dordogne regions, have a good week. It's going to be great weather, so sit back and enjoy the sunshine.
