Week 11 2023

Hello!

This week took me over to the Centre de Loisirs in Rauzan to deliver faces that the children had made from clay a few weeks ago.  It was linked with a series of activities that had explored the features on the face, including drawing in various styles.  For many, it was their first hands on experience with clay and they made great expressive faces.

If you'd like to have a project like this, contact me and we can set up a session.  It makes a great birthday party, or family event.  Age is no restriction.

Whatever you do in the Gironde and Dordogne regions this week, have a great time.

Best wishes,
Helen

And finally...

Pottery workshop update, I've been making mugs.  They have 2 firings before they are finished. Here's a sneak peak at the mugs when they have their bubble glaze, but before they go into the 1000 degrees centigrade final firing.  This takes 8 hours to complete and another 24 hours before they are cool enough to come out of the kiln.  Only then will I know if the kiln Gods were kind or not!

Week 9 2023

 Hello!

We had a super day with the carnival in Sauveterre.  Our Jellyfish float was a huge success thanks to Dorothea and Les Ateliages.

The team was made up from artisans and members of the association at the Maison des Artisans in Sauveterre.

I'm rather artfully hidden under the golden jellyfish on the left!  It was a breezy day, but it meant that the jellyfish moved beautifully and floated in the air.  The magic happened as the daylight faded and the jellyfish lit up.

Whatever you do in the Gironde and Dordogne regions, have a great week.

Best wishes,
Helen

Week 6 2023

 Hello!

The sun is shining, even though the night time temperatures are still cold.  The garden is starting to wake up and the snow drops are pushing through the undergrowth.

Whatever you do this week in the Gironde and Dordogne, have a great time. The schools are on holiday, so the children will be out and about enjoying their free time.

Best wishes,
Helen
