Week 32 2021

 Hello!

This week I got to unleash my creative side in the shop window at Sauveterre.  All the artisans in the Association take it in turn to decorate the window for a month.

The seed of the idea for this window display was planted many years ago, when I started working with clay... finally, inspired by my new workshop ... the idea germinated.

The little men are made of earthenware, fired in a kiln, then coloured with iron oxide.  The figures covered with iron oxide are fired a second time to give them a rusty finish.

Come and check it out in Sauveterre. You can have a miniature version, with a small grid and you choose your figures to hang on the frame.  It looks great against a stone wall.

Whatever you do in the Gironde and Dordogne regions, take your health pass (more about that below) and have a good week.

Best wishes,
Helen

And finally...

As from 9 August, France has introduced Pass Sanitaires.

This pass is proof of vaccination. It doesn't need to be uploaded onto your phone - though if you can, then it's straightforward.  Scan your PCR code from your vaccine certificate.  If you don't have a vaccine from France, all is not lost.  Proof of your vaccine from your home country also works.  NHS vaccine certificates are eligible and US vaccine cards are also acceptable.

he should be presented at all restaurants and bars whether you dine inside or out.  If you don't have a Pass Sanitaire, then you will need a negative PCR test, good for 72 hours or proof that you have recovered from Covid.

Week 30 2021

Hello!

Finally made it to a night market in Flaujagues, but just missed out on dancing the Madison... still, did manage to dance up a storm nevertheless.

We will need our health pass (pass sanitaire) to head out to this type of event now - it's a rather misleading name, as it doesn't actually exist as such, it is simply the proof that you have had both vaccines. After the vaccine, we were given a print out with a QR code.  It's that code that acts as the health pass. Either scan it into your phone, or present the paper copy.

France's health pass is set to be extended to bars, restaurants and long-distance train and bus travel from August 9th, government spokesperson Gabriel Attal announced on Wednesday afternoon.

Whatever you do in the Gironde and Dordogne regions, keep safe, take care and have a good week.

Best wishes,
Helen
