Hello!

The beautiful Sainte Cecile Abbey in Blazimon plays host to a musical extravaganza this weekend.  Four very different choral choirs come together to perform in this attractive setting on Friday evening.  A word of advice - though the acoustics may be superb, the seating is a little hard, so a cushion in the handbag is not a bad idea!!

The musical theme continues over the weekend and on Sunday Blazimon’s Salle de Fetes is holding a meal followed by a Jazz Concert.  The Pessac Jazz Band consists of 20 musicians and will be playing music from the likes of Duke Ellington, Miles Davis, Cole Porter, Victor Lopez and many more.  So put on your dancing shoes and head off to Blazimon.

Another thing I discovered this week is that the first weekend of every month Bordeaux Opera House has cheap concerts.  Last week was Jazz and next month is Tango.  Have a look at the web site for more information http://www.opera-bordeaux.com/

Hello!
What a wet weekend!  Though we have been thoroughly spoilt until now!

Just back from a trip into Bordeaux, it's so easy when you take the tramway and park and ride.  I like to use La Buttiniere, just over the Rocade off the N89. It often says that the carpark is full, but I don't worry, I go up the ramp to the carpark anyway and more often than not, there's space for one more.  €3 gets a ticket for the driver and up to 4 passengers to travel into Bordeaux and back again.  The ticket actually allows for up to 1 hour of travel each way, including transfers - just remember to put your ticket in the machine each time you board the tram.  It's just another reason to love Bordeaux.

Plenty of sports to watch this weekend, a mini marathon on Friday, and rugby on Saturday.

Christmas Markets

Hello,

I know it's only November, but Christmas has a habit of creeping up on me, and the next thing I know, there's no way I'll find gifts, get them wrapped and sent to friends and family anytime before mid January!!  This year I'm getting organised!

I've started to put together a list of upcoming Christmas markets.  It is in no way complete and I'd be very, very happy if you hear of any others, please let me know.  I shall be updating it, so remember to keep checking it out.

Hello!

Happy Hallowe'en!  Out and about it seems much too warm to be the end of October - 24 degrees in Bordeaux this afternoon!

If you haven't got your tickets for the Charity Night at the Races on Friday, there are still tickets left and it's not too late.  Call Jacquie on 05 57 40 15 66.

There is a fun fair in Cours Tourny in Libourne from 29 October until 13 November.  So it'll be tricky to park,  you could try along by the waterfront instead, turn left at the Tax Office and follow the road along the river.
