| Grapes delivered to Les Guinots |
You can’t have failed to notice the wine harvest going on
all around us this week. The high muggy temperatures,
lead to the massive storms, and then beautiful warm sunshine sent the
vignerons heading for their vines with grape clippers and harvesting machines
at full speed. They were trying to
collect the grapes before the rot could set in. |

Les Guinots in Flaujagues was no exception. Their extremely swift harvest will be over by
Wednesday, and as a result of this year’s extreme weather conditions, they have
neither the quantity, nor the quality of previous years – but this is the
challenge that the Bordeaux winemakers have always had. They make the best wine they can, and every
year is different.
