I love to make a traditional English Christmas cake - more dried fruits than batter, more brandy than butter! So, I'm delighted that there's a wonderful stand at Castillon market on a Monday morning which sells a whole range of dried fruits and nuts, perfect ingredients for my cake.As an added bonus, the stall holder also sells fabulous olives and delicious tapinades and baba ghanouch. He also won't let me speak French and his English is wonderful! Look out for him if you are at the market, his stand is against the wall in the small square opposite the church.
Whatever you do this week, (I'll be baking a cake) have a super time in the Gironde and Dordogne regions.Best wishes,
