Week 46 2018

Hello!

Come and make your own ceramic Christmas decorations at the Maison des Artisans in Sauveterre.

On Sunday 25th November we'll open the shop in the afternoon from 14h - 18h so that you can come in and make your own decorations.  Choose the shape, add the texture and decide on the colour of the glaze.  I'll take them away and fire them and you can collect them from the 4th December.  Personalise them with names using letter stamps, or add additional decals with stamps and cutters. €4.50 for the 2 decorations you choose to be fired.

If that all sounds too much like hard work, come and buy the ready made decorations, €2.50 each.  You'll be able to browse and buy from the rest of the shop too.

Whatever you do this week in the Gironde and Dordogne regions, have a great time.

Best wishes,
Helen

Week 45 2018

Hello!

On Sunday 11 November France marks Armistice Day, the anniversary of the end of World War 1 and is a public holiday. Special church services are held to remember those who died in the war and wreaths and flowers are laid at war memorials, most notably at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier in Paris. Traditionally in the UK we wear a poppy to remember, in France they wear a bleuet (a cornflower).  Find out more about this here.

Whatever you do in the Gironde and Dordogne regions, have a good week, and please keep sending in those events and activities they are much appreciated.
Best wishes,
Helen
