Week 32 2020

Hello!

This week Jo Mckinnon and fellow creators Paul de Ath, Jacky Hamilton and Mandy Descorn at Amanda-Maidare hosting a pop up in Duras opposite the pizzeria in the covered area.  They will be there form the 5 - 18 August.  Pop in to the pop up and say 'Hello!' and see their beautiful works of art.  A perfect opportunity to find a gift.

The temperature is on the way up again, so please take care, keep cool and keep safe.  Wearing masks is the new normal, let's keep our part of France safe.

Whatever you do in the Gironde and Dordogne regions, have a great time.

And finally...

Next week, the shower of Perseids (shooting stars) is approaching its maximum.

You'll have the opportunity to lie in the grass and admire the dust burning in the atmosphere, last left in 1992 by comet 109P / Swift-Tuttle.

Jupiter, Saturn will also be there, and Mars at the end of the night.

Many other celestial objects will surely be observable: nebula, galaxies, clusters, double stars, comets

Week 30 2020

Hello!

The wearing of masks has now been made mandatory in all public spaces in France.  There is a fine of €135 if you are caught without one. Here's a great crib sheet if you need clarification about where to wear your masks.

I don't know how or where Night markets fit into this scheme, they are starting to appear in our villages and are always such lovely events. 

Whatever you do in the Gironde and Dordogne regions have a lovely time.
